The Kabaddi World Cup was launched at the British High Commission in New Delhi in November 2022 in the presence of Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to the Republic of India.

After years of commitment and dedication the England Kabaddi Association, Scotland Kabaddi and British Kabaddi League have secured the 1st Kabaddi World Cup to take place in the Midlands in 2025.

The Kabaddi World Cup was launched at the British High Commission in New Delhi in November 2022 in the presence of Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to the Republic of India.

Mr Ashok Das, President of World Kabaddi & England Kabaddi Association awarded the World Cup to Andy Street, Lord Mayor of the West Midlands Combined Authority and Cllr Ian Brookfield, Leader of Wolverhampton Council.

Other dignitaries attending this historical event were Neil Rami, CEO West Midlands Growth Company and Prem Singh, CEO of the British Kabaddi League.

The UK region will become the first destination outside of Asia to host the sport’s most prestigious global tournament, which will feature the world’s best kabaddi players from leading teams, including India, Iran and Pakistan. The tournament will take place across the West Midlands during the first quarter of 2025.
